Others believe it represents the three stages of femininity, maiden, mother and crone - as well as life, death and reincarnation. As Christianity developed, churches adopted it as the symbol of the Holy Trinity. These sterling silver earrings feature round faceted emerald  gems. Emeralds in antiquity have been mined in Egypt since 1500 BCE, and India, and Austria since at least the 14th century.
