Antique 1890 Furnival English Polychrome Lustre Transferware Footed Punch Bowl Compote Soup Tureen
English Victorian Aesthetic Movement Staffordshire Transfer Ware Punch Bowl / TureenCirca 1890 This fantastic find comes from Staffordshire England. It is a footed punch bowl which can easily double as a huge container for a plant or flowers, numerous fruits, vegetables, etc. It easily accommodates up to 5-6 bottles of wine. I have it on my buffet right now with a huge candle that has 5 wicks. It looks stunning! The piece dates to the Aesthetic Movement (link below) and features clusters of grapes on a vine wound around a branch. There are urns of roses centred between golden swags. It is a brown transfer with hand painted color and a stunning lustre finish that catches the light. Decorated inside and out. It is an absolutely impressive and beautiful piece! Marks: Impressed FURNIVAL and P on the bottom and is also hand numbered. This can be dated to 1890-95 based on the Furnival mark. This English pottery was established in 1851 as T.
