Stunning, Antique Purple Transferware Bowl ~ Pastoral Davenport ~ Rural Scenes~Difficult to find!This auction is for one of the most beautiful pieces in purple transferware. I have seen. It was manufactured by Clarice Cliff of Royal Staffordshire potteries. This darling little bowl depicts a rural English farm house where a mother and her daughter are crossing over a stream by way of large boulders placed in a path taking place of a bridge. To the opposite are some cattle and a lamb. The border is a stunning blend of berries intertwined amongst greenery and 4 insets of farming tools....very unique and different from most borders which consist of florals or geometric designs. This is one of the most beautiful scenes on transferware ever! Measures: 5" diameter x 1" deepCondition: No chips or cracks. There is minimal crazing. The brown spot in the picture (about 2:00) was some dirt or old tape which has been cleaned off. I did not realize it was there until after I'd uploaded the photo.W
