Anton Michelsen, 4-piece Danish sterling silver tea and coffee set in elegant Art Deco style, from the 19th century, consisting of: a coffee pot measuring 8 1/2''in height by 9 3/4'' from handle to spout a teapot measuring 6 1/2'' in height by 8 3/4'' from handle to spout a creamer measuring 3'' in height by 4 1/8'' from handle to spout a sugar bowl measuring 2 1/4'' in height by 3 1/8'' in depth Total weight is 48.8 troy ounces and hallmarks are shown. Anton Michelsen (1809-1877) established one of the most important Danish jewelry families. In 1830, after completing his education in Odense, he moved to Copenhagen where, during the next eleven years, he worked for various young masters. Michelsen took courses at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and worked in Berlin in the 1830s.
