Tiffany & Co. Sterling Silver 1913 Honey Dish/ Jam Marmalade Jar
Tiffany & Co. sterling silver honey dish or jam/ marmalade jar with its original glass insert and with a pierced geometric design on the body, in pattern number 18423 from 1913. It is sold with a Tiffany & Co. sterling silver spoon with a gilt wash bowl. The dish measures 4 1/4'' in height by 3 7/8'' in diameter while the spoon measures 3 1/2'' in length. Total silver weight is 8.3 troy ounces. Hallmarks are shown. The legendary Tiffany brand was founded in 1837 by Charles Lewis Tiffany and John B. Young in Connecticut as a "stationery and fancy goods emporium," with the help of Charles Tiffany's father who financed the store for only $1,000 with profits from a cotton mill.
