Mesa Verde National Park Poster - Ansel Adams

Ansel Adams (February 20, 1902 – April 22, 1984) is perhaps the most well-known national park photographer of all time. His work is still revered today and his images continue to command record fees at auctions. In 1968, his images were featured on a series of posters created by the Department of the Interior and National Park Service. Mesa Verde National Park, located in Colorado, preserves the ancient cliff dwellings of the Ancestral Pueblo people. It offers a glimpse into their rich history and cultural heritage through well-preserved archaeological sites, stunning vistas, and interpretive programs, attracting visitors from around the world. One of the most interesting things about these posters is the logo. The intertwined triangles and 3 dots served as the official logo of the National Park Service from 1966-1969, although it was not popular with visitors and the arrowhead returned.
