Cover Crop - Lolium italicum (Annual Rye)

Use Lolium italicum (Annual Rye) to help with erosion of the soil and your precious seed.  CAUTION, Annual Rye is best used only in areas where you need high erosion protection as it is allelopathic and can inhibit native seed growth.  For example, river and stream banks, concentrated flow areas, and steep slopes where you need more protection. Also, use this cover crop to help compete against weeds and as an indicator crop to help determine if your seeding was successful. Also can be used as a carrier to help spread seed more evenly. We recommend seeding this for spring and summer installations as a cover crop and anytime as a carrier.    For quantities larger than 30 lbs please contact us for a custom quote.
