Osmunda cinnamomea (Cinnamon Fern)

A great moist woodland garden fern. The familiar "fiddleheads" uncoil from the base of the plant into large 2-4' long fronds which remain attractive throughout the year and turn yellow in autumn. The common name of this plant is in reference to the cinnamon-colored fibers found near the frond bases used in the potting of orchids.
