Quercus palustris (Pin Oak)
Quercus palustris (Pin Oak) is a member of the red oak group and thrives in medium to wet soils. This oak's fall red to reddish-orange color is magnificent when planted in the correct conditions. Pink oak works well as a shade tree or a specimen tree. Caution chlorosis (yellowing of leaves) is common in the commonly alkaline soils (pH above 7) and can severely damage this tree.
