Application of stratigraphic concepts to selected gas-producing intervals in the Rocky Mountian region and the Permian Basin, including the Mississippian and Creatceous of the Rockies and the Permian of the Permian Basin: Sixty-six major gas plays in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming; each described and illustrated with maps, typical logs, cross sections, etc. Descriptions and geologic/engineering data for 861 reservoirs that have produced more than 5 BCF of gas. Special sections on coalbed methane and low-BTU gases. Chapter on stratigraphic concepts provides a regional sequence-stratigraphic framework for selected geologic intervals of regional interest to the gas industry. Chaper on engineering analysis presents methods used in analyzing different types of Rocky Mountain gas reservoirs and summarizes pipeline systems, capacities, supplies, and demand in the Rocky Mountain Region.
