It lies mostly in the Kaiparowits Plateau-Escalante Benches section of the Colorado Plateau physiographic province. The southeast-trending ridge of Roger Peak, in the northwest corner of the quadrangle, is a projection of the Aquarius Plateau, which is included in the lava-covered part of the Southern High Plateaus section of the Basin and Range-Colorado Plateau Transition province.
