Bonfire Nights

This soap feels smooth and creamy on the skin, and smells like all your favorite notes of fall. The Essential oil blend is mostly Vetiver! Which gives it a rich, resinous, slight bonfire scent, blended with with notes of Cedar, Spruce and Juniper.   These bars were inspired by an October camping trip to the Shawnee National Forest. I have determined Shawnee is Illinois' best kept secret since I lived in Illinois for 15 years before I knew about it. Now I’m on a mission to tell everyone about all the magic those hills contain. October in Shawnee means the air is warm, the water still, the hiking trails quiet, and the owls keep close watch every night.   The burnt grape seeds on the top of these bars were scooped up from the burn pile at a southern Illinois winery. I started the safflowers from seed, grew them in my pollinator habitat, and then harvested and dried them for these soap tops. And Fenugreek was added for the color and a wisp of butterscotch on the nose.  Ingredients: Saponif
