Simple Moments Birdhouse Clock

Simple Moments make Great Memories! Clocks have become my passion project. Thinking beyond time and space each one is a functional piece of art that evokes an emotion or memory of a place and time. Everything is designed around that idea and hopefully points to something in each of us that is creative and fun. Beginning with wooden or cardboard forms, disparate pieces are assembled to be the host for the layers upon layers of colorful polymer clay. Taking many hours of work, each piece of clay is created from single blocks of color, combined, cut, stamped, manipulated and assembled into patterns. Small pieces are individually formed and gilded or strung across the surfaces of the clay to build up a design. Nothing starts with a fully formed pattern but rather takes its own path as it is being built. Did I say that it takes HOURS of work? Yes, but to me it is also hours of fulfillment  to carry the work thru the process to arrive at a beautiful and fun piece of art. A Moment in Time bec
