P&O Lines: An eight-page interiors brochure from December 1922 for the "new" mail ships MOLDAVIA and MONGOLIA. The text and photos are reprinted from the British trade magazine "The Blue Peter". Since MONGOLIA was still under construction, the photos come from MOLDAVIA. First Class views show the lofty Smoking Room, Dining Saloon, Music Room, Promenade Deck, Pantry Verandah Cafe, and a Suite de Luxe. Second Class views include the Smoking Room, Dining Saloon, Music Saloon, and Entrance Hall. In the text the magazine goes into detail with the decor, describing veneers, colors, styles, and lay-out. Also covered are mechanical and cargo areas. Be sure to note the photo of the MOLDAVIA. Critics chastised her single stack as being insignificant and spoiling her looks. P&O rectified the issue by adding a dummy funnel during a 1928 retrofit. But then critics said the addition was too far aft and unbalanced her appearance.
