PRINCESS PATRICIA: 1949 - Alaska brochure from the end
Canadian Pacific Line: A twenty-page brochure from the late 1970s/1980 for dowager royalty, the PRINCESS PATRICIA.The brochure intertwines Alaska travelogue with photos and notes about the ship. There are photos of the PRINCESS PAT sailing through spectacular scenery and many interior views showing veneer-liner public rooms, cabins from days-gone-by, and even the captain signing menus at a table set with sparkling CP crystal and china. Color-coded plans show four decks. The ship was launched after WW2 to service the "triangle route" - Vancouver-Victoria-Seattle. In 1959 the PRINCESS PAT was converted for Alaskan cruise service. She was laid up for much of the 1980s but brought out of mothballs to become a hotel ship at the 1986 Vancouver World's Fair. A stint as a ferry in the Far East followed and then to the breakers in 1995.Excellent condition.
