Fabre Line - A rare tissue deck plan (18" by 23") from the early 1920s for the PROVIDENCE, a Marseille-New York liner laid down before WW1 but completed afterwards. Four decks are shown covering First Class, carrying 140 passengers. The ship included a slightly larger Second Class. But the real purpose of the PROVIDENCE was further down in the hull - bunks for 1,850 Third Class passengers. The PROVIDENCE moved to Messageries Maritimes in the 1930s. A storm drove her ashore in 1940, ironically saving her from destruction in WW2. In late 1944 the ship was salvaged and rebuilt, sailing until 1951. Good condition with light wear.
