SEA PRINCESS: 1966 - Bread plate from ship w/ add-on

P&O Cruises: A bread plate as removed from the SEA PRINCESS during her days with P&O Cruises.The 6.5" diameter plate is back-marked Royal Doulton Steelite. It is not marked with the line name. Instead it was "liberated" from the SEA PRINCESS by an enthusiastic passenger who added a souvenir sticker to remind him of the ship.SEA PRINCESS was converted from Swedish American Line's KUNGSHOLM in the late 1970s. In a classic example of making a sow's ear out of a silk purse, P&O removed the dummy forward-funnel and reshaped the stern one, thus forever ruining the lines of the classically beautiful KUNGSHOLM. Excellent condition.
