Pacific Steam Navigation Company: An interesting 5" long souvenir spoon, probably sold onboard great ships such as the REINA DEL PACIFICO in the 1930s. What makes this spoon unusual is that instead of the houseflag in the center of the medallion on the handle, it says (with no caps), "the pacific steam navigation co. incorporated by royal charter 1840." Around the perimeter is the Latin saying "honi soit qui mal y pense" ("shame on him who thinks ill of it") which happens to be the motto of the exclusive Royal Order of the Garter in England. The crown on top is St. Edward's Crown, a symbol used by PSNC from 1902 to 1952. In 1952 they switched back to the Royal Crown. Very good condition.
