A medium to large deciduous tree known for its narrow, willow-like leaves and rapid growth, thriving in various environments across the southeastern United States. The leaves are narrow and lance-shaped, resembling those of a willow tree, measuring about 4 to 5 inches long. They are bright green above and paler beneath, turning golden yellow or brown in the fall. Willow oaks do produce small acorns, typically ½ to 1 inch long, which mature over two years.
