Wood fired serving bowl with a center of flowers and blue and white stripes. The flowers and stripes are formed by a process called Nerikomi, an ancient Japanese decorative process. Colored clay is shaped into a design, in this case, a flower and formed into a tube, called a cane. The cane is sliced thinly in the cross section, and this slice is inlayed into a slab of clay which is used to form the pot. Approx. 12" diameter in this square bowl. 3" high.
