Huayno is a genre of traditional dance and music that Andean people dance and listen to in their daily life. The indigenous music depicts emotional and expressive sentiments through songs sung in Spanish and in Quechua. The singers are accompanied by diverse assortment of instruments, such as flutes, trumpets, panpipes, violins, harps, guitars, saxophones, accordion, mandolin, bandurria, and charango. This collection includes some of the earliest Huayno recordings from the late 1940s. The liner notes include an essay by John Cohen. For CD Player
