Can sustainability be restored, or is it too late?In this 2010 documentary filmed entirely on location in Hawaii, we interview farmers, urban gardeners, permaculture experts, historians, educators, and experts on food production and food insecurity in a small island chain 2000 miles from any mainland. The consensus is that it behooves the small state to become more self-sustainable, yet the container ships continue to be the main supply line for food. One expert, Ken Love, says that if shipping were interupted due to eathquake or tsunami Hawaii would be out of food in five days.
