The Robinson crabapple is a beautiful flowering tree. It is one of the larger varieties of crabapples reaching a mature height and spread of 25 ft. giving it a large, rounded form. In the spring it offers a stunning spectacle with small, gorgeous blooms of bright pink flowers that form in full, large clusters over all of the branches. The flowers are fragrant and attract lots of attention. The oval leaves are purple when young, but turn green with red veining in the summer. The foliage will then turn a brown to bright orange for fall. Like all crabapples it will grow red edible berries, which attract birds and wildlife in the fall and into the winter or they can be turned into a tangy jelly. The Robinson crabapple shows strong disease resistance.
