Styring Reckless Petit Verdot Red Blend

Red blends are having a moment and Styring's Reckless Petit Verdot Red Blend is a perfect example of this newly-popular style. It has aromas of black dates, juniper and earthy notes, brooding cracked black pepper and spices. You'll taste full-bodied dark fruit balanced with lively acidity, oak spice, saddle leather and integrated tannins. Styring's Reckless Petit Verdot Red Blend came about due to a happy accident: In 2008, our first attempt to make a 100% Petit Verdot did not go according to plan. With fruit sourced from a family friend in Echo, OR, one fermenter of Cabernet Sauvignon from the same vineyard found its way into the press with our Petit Verdot, hence the name "Reckless." This was a genius accident as the Cabernet clearly softened the often overwhelming tannins that come with Petit Verdot. We decided to continue Reckless as Styring's biggest red blend.
