MP3 Download In the provocative concepts of morphogenetic fields and morphic resonance, we may indeed be more than the sum of our parts; we may have access to all that has gone before. Sheldrake, a biochemist, has postulated an extraordinary new theory that, if correct, could overturn our fundamental concepts about nature, brain function and consciousness. The theory suggests there may be mechanisms in evolution, as yet unrecognized by any science, other than those governed by ordinary natural selection. (hosted by Michael Toms) Bio  Rupert Sheldrake studied natural sciences at Cambridge and philosophy at Harvard, took a Ph.D. in biochemistry at Cambridge and is the author of more than eighty scientific papers. Dr. Sheldrake is perhaps best known for his morphic field theory, which takes a fresh look at memory, habit, instinct and heredity as well as phenomena such as telepathy - aspects of human experience that are unexplained in terms of current physics. He's the author of several books including: The Rebirth of Nature: The Greening of Science and God (Bantam 1991) A New Science of Life: The Hypothesis of Morphic Resonance (J.P. Tarcher 1995) The Presence of the Past: Morphic Resonance and the Habits of Nature (Times Books 1995) Natural Grace: Dialogues on creation, darkness, and the soul in spirituality and science (coauthor Matthew Fox) (Doubleday 1996) The Physics of Angels: Exploring the Realm Where Science and Spirit Meet (coauthor Matthew Fox) (HarperSanFrancisco 1996) Dogs That Know When Their Owners Are Coming Home: Fully Updated and Revised Seven Experiments That Could Change the World: A Do-It-Yourself Guide to Revolutionary Science (2nd Edition with Update on Results) The Sense of Being Stared At: And Other Unexplained Powers of Human Minds (Crown 2003) Science Set Free: 10 Paths to New Discovery (Deepak Chopra Books, 2012), also published in the UK as The Science Delusion (Coronet, 2012) To learn more about the work of Rupert Sheldrake go to www.sheldrake.org.
