The Last of the Mohicans

A Narrative of 1757 James Fenimore Cooper’s best known novel and second volume in his pentalogy the Leatherstocking Tales. Set during the French and Indian War, the book has been regarded as the first Great American Novel. The story has had considerable influence on popular culture on a wide range of early American topics; perceptions of frontier life and Native Americans have been greatly formed by the tale. First published in 1826, this edition is derived from the French edition published in 1884 with over 150 black & white illustrations by Michaeł Elwiro Andriolli. As always, this edition is complete and unabridged.
