The map was published by the French map maker Pierre Mortier out of Amsterdam in 1693. As with most sea charts, no detail is given beyond the coastline, but in this map, several coastal cities are represented, including that of Gothenburg, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki, Riga, and Gdańsk (Dantzik) to name a few.
