The map was published in Amsterdam circa 1610. This charming map of Ireland comes from Hondius’s reduced size version of Mercator’s “Atlas,” aptly titled “Atlas Minor.” The map shows Ireland and a portion of Scotland with a western orientation. Important cities such as Dublin, Waterford, and Cork are highlighted in red and numerous smaller towns and large lakes are noted throughout. The map features a rococo title cartouche and another cartouche showing a distance scale in Irish miles. Condition: Map is in B+ condition, with staining in the margins from old adhesive.
