The map was produced in Paris, 1845. This large 21 section case map of North America provides an impressive amount of detail in comparison to other large continental maps of the era. State and territory boundaries are delineated as well as towns, forts, roads, Native American tribes, railroads, rivers, topography, and sea lanes. The map was issued the same year of the annexation of the state of Texas to the United States of America. The new state is shown with a rather squashed appearance and a complete absence of a panhandle. The United States extend as far west as Texas, Missouri, and Arkansas. Mexico controls all of present-day American Southwest and California.
