This is an antique map of central Chile featuring the capitol city of Santiago, Valparaiso, and the Argentinian city of Mendoza. A large segment of the De La Plata river system is delineated in La Plata (Argentina), along with a number of large lakes. The Andes Mountains are depicted in detail. The maps’ most distinguishing qualities include the use of the same scale and projection for each map. The consistent nature of these elements allowed said maps to be joined together to form a huge globe measuring over 25 feet in diameter.
