The Cisco VIC3 4FXS DID 4-port voice interface card is a Foreign Exchange Subscriber (FXS) port-enabled device that allows up to four analog legacy telecommunications devices such as phones and fax machines to be integrated into modern, digital networks. This Cisco FXS card voice module enables service providers, managed service providers, and enterprises the ability to forge direct connections with public switched telephone networks as well as a PBX, a key system, or other analog devices. The Cisco VIC3 4FXS DID is compatible with a number of Cisco Series Integrated Services Routers, mountable with an available adapter unit. One of several voice/fax network modules available from Cisco, the VIC3-4FXS/DID has four FXS ports used to directly connect to analog phones, fax machines, and key systems and is capable of battery polarity reversal and transmitting caller ID information.
