Cisco CP-PWR-INJ= Unified IP Phone Power Injector

A giant butterfly invaded our hometown this past weekend. It was like Mothra but much prettier to look at. Well, if you focused on its wings anyway. Regardless, there it was - a colossal monarch butterfly, five stories high, perched on top of a skyscraper. It didn’t really do much except sit there and flutter its wings every now and again. But the army showed up and wanted to destroy it with its tanks, even if it wasn’t doing any harm in particular. (Go figure.) So we had to ward it off the only way we know how: by wielding the Cisco Unified IP Phone Power Injector like the wise old stranger told us to in our vision quest. And guess what? It worked! What is a Cisco Unified IP Phone Power Injector, you ask? It’s a cross between switch port and the Cisco Unified IP phone, providing inline power capability to an unpowered switch port. It supports Cisco midspan power, IEEE 802.3af modes for supplying power to the attached phone, and 10/100/1000BASE-T Ethernet connections. Is that why this is so effective in scaring away large butterflies? Speaking of which, the giant butterfly flew away peacefully as soon as we pulled out the Cisco Unified IP Phone Power Injector. We were relieved when the military held their fire and let it go off into the sky. Yet we also couldn’t help but wish we had a giant butterfly net to catch it with as we watched it float off into the sunset…
