Powstanie Connecticut

Last year, Powstanie released its third regular production line, the Powstanie Connecticut, which also happened to be the first new regular production line the company has released since it debuted in 2015 with its Broadleaf and Habano lines. The new Connecticut line launched with only four sizes—while the Broadleaf and Habano lines are sold in five sizes—meaning it was missing one vitola, a corona gorda.  The newest release vitola is the Corona Gorda, 'Justice'. As with the rest of the line, the Corona Gorda is made with an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed wrapper covering a Pennsylvania broadleaf binder and filler tobaccos grown in Nicaragua. Interestingly, a version of the Connecticut Corona Gorda was released more than a decade earlier in a cigar named ApolloDani, a limited edition release made for the birth of the middle child of Mike Szczepankiewicz, co-founder of Powstanie. All of the cigars in Powstanie’s portfolio so far are made at Fábrica de Tabacos Nica Sueño S.A. in Nicaragua.
