About the director Paul Weitz' early career involved collaborations with younger brother filmmaker Chris Weitz. He began his film career as a co-writer on the animated film Antz. In 1999 he worked with his brother again but this time as a co-directed and producer of American Pie which became a major box office success. The brothers worked together as co-writers and co-directors for the film About a Boy starring Hugh Grant in 2002. Weitz did work on his own to direct the Little Fockers in 2010 followed by the sequel Meet the Parents & Meet the Fockers . Weitz has a production company with his brother Chris and in 2016 the brothers signed a two-year first-look deal with Amazon Studios and works are in development for producing remakes of Japanese thriller titles.
