Brass Mask Ring Gold Weight - Ring Size 6 1/2- Ghana

This ring is a reproduction of a mask that was used to weigh gold at least 100 years ago when gold dust was commonly used in Africa as their currency. To have a gold weight in the form of a ring was a convenient way to have your weights available at all times. Each ring is individually hand-cast using the traditional lost-wax casting technique, as has always been done in Africa. Therefore no two are identical; we have catalogued them individually for you to be able to choose the one you prefer. Sizes vary from 6 to 9 1/2. These 2 are both size 6 1/2.
