Marian Nez born in 1967, is Helene and Cindy’s older sister. She was taught to weave by her mother and grandmother. A master weaver, she has won many awards and her weavings have been exhibited in the Desert Caballeros Western Museum in Wickenburg. This particular piece is just spectacular.  Woven in a contemporary Bistie style, with a central element which was changed to showcase Sandpainting images. Marion's talent for weaving is evident in this weaving, notice how perfect the circles are in the center sandpainting design. Circles are one of the most difficult design elements to weave. The judges at the Gallup Inter-tribal Ceremonial agree. In 2013 they awarded this piece 1st Place honors in the Bistie category.  This weaving is featured in our "Master Weavings of the Navajo Churro Collection" Exhibit at Nizhoni Ranch Gallery, March 2019 and the "Master Weavings of the Navajo Churro Collection" catalog, page 26. This weaving was part of the 2016 Woven Holy People exhibit at Nizhoni R
