Blue on White Porcelain and Lapis Lazuli Pendant Necklace

This is a Chinese blue-and-white porcelain (青花瓷 Qīnghuācír) theme necklace with pendant. We created it with faceted blue agates, carved white giant clam beads and Tibetan silver. It features four 28 mm blue and white porcelain balls with flower motif and a 3 inch drop 42 mm blue and white porcelain sphere with Double Happiness and Long Life characters as a pendant. *Blue flowers/patterns first became widely used in Chinese porcelain in the 14th century. A wide range of white pottery and porcelain was decorated under glaze with a blue pigment, generally cobalt oxide, by brush painting.
