Chaparral was used by Native American tribes and early settlers for its herbal properties, often preparing infusions and poultices to support general wellness and skin conditions.* Larrea tridentata is a hardy, evergreen plant characterized by its woody stems, small leathery leaves, and yellow flowers. It is commonly found in arid regions such as the southwestern United States and northern Mexico, thriving in desert scrub and rocky hillsides.  Chaparral is sometimes called "creosote bush," due to its distinct, tar-like smell, and its resilience in extreme environments, making it a symbol of desert adaptability and endurance.
