Driftscape

This collection was born from a desire to capture the in-between spaces of sound. The textures that hover, shift, and evolve. At the core lies the electric guitar, transformed through a chain of pedals like the Chroma Console, Microcosm, Big Sky, and Avalanche Run, where familiar tones dissolve into expansive atmospheres. Layered into these performances are re-sampled fragments of analog life: the warmth of tape hiss, the hum of circuitry, and incidental ground noise, woven as subtle textures rather than imperfections. Eurorack modules designed for ambient soundscapes expanded the palette further, offering organic movement, electronic sounds and evolving drones. Granular synthesis played a central role throughout - both with hardware and digital tools - to stretch, scatter, and reimagine sounds into something new.
