By filling in the missing notes of the top shell with 7 notes on the bottom we have created a fully diatonic instrument over 3 modes; Db Lydian, Eb Mixolydian, F Aeolian(Natural Minor). We like to call this Kintsugi. Kintsugi: The Japanese art of pouring gold into the cracks and fissures of broken pottery to not only repair the piece but to display the mend as a part of the objects beauty.
