Our saxophonist proudly displays his miniature sax with it's iconic shape easily distinguished. The saxophone line usually has the best kept secret on the field - their sense of humor. Tenor, Bari, or Alto doesn't matter, a conversation with a saxophone player will always bring a smile your face. Frequently mistaken for a brass instrument, the saxophone is part of the woodwind family dating back to the 1800s. Categorizing it as brass is an easy mistake considering the material it's made from! The sound is produced via a reed. Aside from it's popularity in the marching band setting, the saxophone is best known for it's association with the jazz music scene. Marching bands have a long standing history steeped in tradition. From military to show bands, primary school to university, all the way to competitive drum corps around the world, marching bands bring feelings of excitement as they herald anything from city parades to global sporting events.
