Wayne Ngan Seagull Dish

Born in Canton, China, Wayne Ngan (1937 - 2020) immigrated to western Canada in 1951 and would attend The Vancouver School of Art where he graduated with honors. He would eventually move to Hornby Island around 1967 where he built an inspiring oceanside home to pursue his career in sculpture and pottery. Recognized as one of Canada's premier ceramic artists, his work has been exhibited around the word. An exceptional piece, slab form, footed dish with seagull / coastal bird etched design, varying shades of textured steel blue glaze. Made in Canada. Measures 9" square (approx.)
