A small paper insert attributes previous ownership provenance to the Steere-Hillig family member Vinton Cummings. This book comes from the estate of Nancy (Hillig) Jenkins-Frye of Asheville, North Carolina. Nancy fastidiously researched and catalogued her books noting any provenance she could verify. Small blind book stamp "From Bradley's" to the front fly leaf identifies this copy as being sold by one of Ira Bradley's companies in Boston. Ira Bradley was a significant figure in 19th-century American book manufacturing, binding, and publishing. This book has gilded page block edges that might be hard to see in the photos.
