There are several unique aspects to this carpet which include color and design. Carpets of this type and age are generally found to have a red or dark navy field. This carpet however, features a naturally green/teal field, which is considered a sacred color by weavers. For this reason, green is seldom used for more than light accents, and is rather uncommon to a carpet's predominant field color unless intended for special owners / orders. Further, the design in this type are less frequently found allover pomegranate design as opposed to the classic Herati motif.
