It regards the Commercial High School For Girls and its alumni classes. Included is a series of plays, poems, and short essays written by alumni of the school, starting with the class of 1896 and ending with the class of 1907. The Commercial High School For Girls was originally a sub course that was taught at the Philadelphia High School For Girls when their location was at 17th and Spring Garden Streets in Philadelphia. Due to the popularity of the course, the Commercial High School became the sole habitant of another building, near the 1700 block of Olney Streets. Later, the Commercial High School passed out of existence, as Girls High School of Philadelphia took over its current location, and the former building belongs now to JR Masterman High School.
