Castilla y León Red Wine

“Pedro Gonzalez Mittelbrunn makes this wine entirely from the local grape of Prieto Picudo. He farms his grapes organically, with the wine made from a combination of twenty-something year-old vines and a parcel of centenarians more than one hundred years of age. The 2023 version comes in at an even thirteen percent octane and delivers a deep, precise and black fruity bouquet of dark berries, cassis, coffee bean, a touch of roasted gamebird, dark soil tones and a smoky topnote. On the palate the wine is full-bodied, focused and nicely transparent down to its soil tones, with some firm tannins, good balance and grip and a long, complex finish.
