Metatl Chair

LIMITED EDITION // ONLY TWO AVAILABLE The metate, which like many other pre-Hispanic artifacts is a tripod, is the inspiration for the Metatl Chair by Pedro Reyes. Being a mortar, the stability and firmness of the metate comes from its three legs that guarantee a firm seat on an uneven surface. That same geometry and weight have inspired this chair, whose curve functions as a backrest and a seat at the same time. Additionally, Metatl incorporates the metlapilli, also called temolote, used to grind the grains. Note: All products are handmade and will vary.
