My Favorite Kanji Book
This fun book is a new companion study guide to the very popular My First Kanji Book from America-born Japan-based Kanji educationist Bret Mayer. This easy-to-carry pocketbook introduces around 100 kanji and 25 compound words in a fun and easy-to-remember way. Each kanji or compound word has a vivid illustration based on the original Chinese pictographs, English translations, and an English-language haiku. By using visual and language-based mnemonics, the book will help you remember the kanji more easily than through text-only study guides. The author Bret Mayer lives and works as a Kanji Instructor in Hamamatsu, Shizuoka, Japan. In Autumn 2012, Mayer became the first foreigner to pass the highest level of the Japan Kanji Aptitude Test, completing every level the testing foundation has to offer.
