Illus. with drawings by Lauren Jarrett. Jacket. Revised (Thirteenth) Edition. NY: Knopf, 1990. Warmly inscribed & signed by Cunningham on the half-title: "To John - We have to wait and see, Love, Marion." Cunningham was responsible for the 1979 and 1990 revisions of The Fannie Farmer Cookbook, and she worked with James Beard for many years before striking out on her own. The inscribee was John Hudspeth, a close friend and colleague of Marion's, who introduced him to Chez Panisse, where he worked, sold produce to, and hung out for many years. Some internal stains from use, otherwise very good. And we'll just have to wonder what that inscription means. (20)
