When I was a small child, maybe five or six, I would go for what my family called "midnight swims" (they were really around 8 or 9pm). I loved diving under the water to see how long I could hold my breath. Our pool had one light in the shallow end, but none in the deep end. I would always imagine that there was this vast body of water beyond my sight, and that super large sea creatures were roaming around not too far from where I was swimming.
